MANAGEMENT OF HOSTELS

The Institute has 6 boy's and 2 girl's hostels. The boy's hostels with a capacity of 250 each are for B.Tech. students and one 150 seaters post graduate hostel accommodates M.Tech. students and research scholars. Three of the five boy's hostels for undergraduate students have triple seater rooms whereas the remaining two are single seaters. All the rooms in Post-graduate hostel are single seaters. One additional 350 seaters Boys Hostel has recently been completed (as per Annexure-II ). One 350 Seaters Boys Hostel for P.G. Students and one 350 Seaters Boys Hostel for U.G. Students are under construction.

The Institute's Girls hostels have capacity of 125 seats and 200 seats. The hostel has single, double and triple seated rooms.

MESSES

In each hostel, the Mess is run on co-operative basis with the assistance of the students in the form of a Mess Committee under the overall supervision of a MMCA, Clerks & Wardens. Membership of the mess is compulsory for all students residing in the hostel. Meals are served in the dining hall only during the hours fixed by the Warden. In no case should the students ask the mess staff to serve meals outside the dining hall. The students need to come in proper dress in the dinning hall. The students are supposed not to disturb the seating arrangements in the dinning hall. Manhandling or abusing the mess staff under any circumstances is considered a gross breach of discipline inviting strict disciplinary action. Mess utensils etc. are not permitted to be taken out of the dinning hall by the students. Rebates from the mess for not taking food are governed by the Rebate Rules which may be revised from time to time.

ALLOTMENT

The quarters are allotted to the employees on the basis of seniority. Two committees (Teaching and Non-teaching) have been constituted for the allotment of House as per the availability of the quarters on the request of employees. (See Annexure-II)
