Undergraduate Courses

The department offers two compulsory courses in Chemistry as an integral part of the  curriculum of the engineering degree courses in the first semester and second semester. Emphasis is laid on the basic principles of Chemistry and their applications in engineering disciplines. Extensive laboratory training is imparted to the students in both semesters.

Research Facilities

Research facilities leading to the degree of Doctor of Phiolosophy exist in the Department. At present, members of the staff are doing research in the following fields:

Microcyclic chemistry
Spectroscopy
Magnetism
Polymer and Polymer anchored coordination chemistry
Kinetics

Consultancy / Industrial Collaboration

The Department offers consultancy services of advice to Chemical Industries in the region. Chemical testing of water, soil, cement mortar, concrete etc. are undertaken by the Department.
